The ALPA eFinder II app presents a sophisticated solution for photographers, cinematographers, and painters seeking to enhance their composition skills. This application allows users to visualize and frame their images using a variety of methods, including optical viewfinders and ground glass, tailored to their specific focal length and format requirements. The convenience of this app on an iPhone or iPod touch makes it a powerful tool for image preparation.

ALPA has also introduced a dedicated iPhone holder that integrates seamlessly with their cameras, transforming the eFinder into a fully functional viewfinder system.

With the ALPA eFinder II, users can quickly and conveniently compose images or compare multiple lenses without the need to attach them physically. The application enables easy saving of compositions along with GPS data embedded in both the image and EXIF information, streamlining location scouting and shoot preparation.

The app accommodates various analog and digital formats as well as all ALPA lenses, providing customization possibilities for focal lengths and overlays of different aspect ratios. When combined with ALPA's ACAM 0.5x super-wide converter lens, the eFinder II becomes an essential tool for landscape and architecture photographers, capable of simulating focal lengths as wide as 21mm on ALPA cameras fitted with digital backs.

This combination also allows for the composition of super-wide stitched images and effectively removes distortion associated with the wide converter lens in real-time.

Additionally, the eFinder II expands its database to include non-ALPA still and motion picture cameras and lenses, matching the capabilities of the Mark II Artist's Viewfinder.
